This diet plan was designed for a woman with triple negative breast cancer (TNBC). The patient had her tumours removed, but she was unable to complete her chemotherapy regime. So her oncologist instead prescribed external beam radiation treatments.
We designed her diet plan to sensitize any remaining tumour cells to the radiation treatment. We based this on the concept of synthetic lethality, as outlined by Rajendran et al., (2011) and statistical evaluation of well-established mechanisms that drive the development of TNBCs.
