Crenolanib: Targeting PDGFR Mutations Found In Pontine And High Grade Glioma

Crenolanib (CP-868,596), is a drug targets the most commonly amplified region of genome (encoding the PDGF receptor) found in diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG) and pediatric high grade glioma (HGG). I like this study because it uses a drug that specifically targets a genetic alteration found in a type of brain cancer. The following is a link to a clinical trail that combines Crenolanib and radiation for for treatment of specific brain cancers.
